The Council of Europe (CoE) is an intergovernmental organisation with 47 member countries and has its headquarters in Strasbourg (France). Founded on 5 May 1949, the CoE seeks to develop throughout Europe common and democratic principles based on the European Convention on Human Rights and other reference texts on the protection of individuals. The Council of Europe is seeking highly qualified, experienced and specialized interpretation service providers for the provision of interpretation services and equipment during meetings relating to its cooperation and technical assistance activities in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzigovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, Tunisia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey and Ukraine

The services to be provided consist mainly in providing the sound system, the simultaneous interpretation system, earphones, portable microphones and technical services as well as simultaneous and consecutive interpretation services from one official language of the Council (English or French) into the language(s) of the country or of the regional programme, at meetings organized in the country or during study visits outside the country, and may also include audio recording services of meetings and the provision of recordings on CDs.

For the purposes of implementing the contract, service providers will be required to pay due care to the lawful transfer of intellectual and industrial property rights.

Participation in this call for tenders is open to companies (with or without subcontractors) that are experienced providers of interpretation services.
